80 ft lbs is what I use, It is 80 in the manual and it is the same for all models. I just put on my winter rims and used 80 ft lbs. 95 ft lbs is such an odd number for them to recommend.

80 ft lbs is what I use, I believe it is 80 in the manual and it is the same for all models. I just put on my winter rims and used 80 ft lbs. 95 ft lbs is such an odd number for them to recommend, I doubt it would hurt but the spec is 80.

I have always used 80 ft lbs in all of my Hondas/Acuras.

Called my dealer to make sure and was informed that the wheel torque spec for the Si was 95? I’m positive that it is 80-85. Is that correct?

Sad that a Honda dealership would make a mistake like this; especially it is the same for all models (except vans and SUV).

Yeah that is really odd for them to say that, 94 ft lbs applies to vehicles with m14 wheel studs , like the Odyssey and Ridgeline, and some Pilots. All other Hondas with M12 wheel studs are 80 ft lbs. Makes you wonder who is answering the phones at that place, lol.

You ever break studs loose after the dumbest tech at the dealership uses an air gun on your poor innocent lug nuts? They just want you out the door so the tighter the better. Sounds like a pistol shot when they break loose.

EDIT: not had this happen at a Honda dealer.

Any time a dealer or shop touches my wheels, I come home and loosen all of the lugs and torque them by hand with my torque wrenches. I always find them torqued improperly, some too loose and some too tight, it ticks me off knowing they just zap them with air tools.

Just as bad as the sales guys who install your license plates on your new car with an impact gun, and they strip the crap out of the bolt holes, lol. You can see them running all over the parking lots with their battery powered impact guns doing it on new sales.

In North Carolina we can not understand why people put front license plates on their cars. So you can‘t leave a bank robbery going backwards without being identified?

Anyway on our 2015 si, the dealer actually drilled four holes in my front bumper to mount a license plate that was an ad for the dealership.

They got me a new bumper. And I have their sworn promise not to vandalize the new car.
