All the things i wish i said book

spoiler alert:these were not all the words i wish i said. in fact most of these words i wish i didn't write. just to the small fact of, i wish i didn't care... but sadly i do. but if i said the words i wish i did, then they wouldn't be my little secret, they would be words on paper in a book. they would be words taken out of context, because the world loves to take things out of context. the words i wish i said are between me and my party of a brain. because if you knew the words, then you would have such an advantage over me, and my quiet showers where i ramble on to myself about my words wouldn't be my secret anymore. you may be able to take most of me but you'll never be able to take all of me.

Shelves: poetry

i might be just a bit biased because one of my closest friends wrote this book, but to be honest it was absolutely beautiful and spectacular. the way steph used language to express her deepest thoughts was so intrisically unique and i am so proud of her for having the courage to publish this poignant and at times vulnerable book. thank you so much steph for bringing this out into the world, and know that i will support you in everything.

I found this short collection so hard to follow. I had to re-read passages multiple times just to try and understand how the sentences should flow and even at times what that poem was about.

What kind of book is the words I wish I said?

PoetryThe Words I Wish I Said: By Caitlin Kelly / Genrenull

What I wish I said about?

This collection of poems captures the mind of a young black Christian man who resists emotional openness with everyone but the page. Things I Wish I Said is as much a puzzle as he is, but he learns to find his voice eventually--even among the struggles he continues to face.

What do you say next novel?

What's the Story? In WHAT TO SAY NEXT, Kit Lowell is an ambitious and popular high school junior who's still reeling from her father's recent tragic car accident. David Drucker, a boy in her class, is on the autism spectrum and struggles socially at school. They both feel things deeply and hold secrets close.
