According to The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee consolidated audit of December 31, 2018 (Note 8, Fixed Assets, Net): "Assets held for sale totaled $882,969 and $2,073,226, net of impairment of $43,380 and $93,500, as of December 31, 2018 and 2017, respectively. These buildings were approved by the board to be sold and are actively being marketed. A building held for sale in Israel was sold in early 2017, which resulted in a gain on sale
of $4,319,900. Six additional buildings held for sale, of which three were fully depreciated, were sold during 2018, which resulted in a net gain on sale of $608,707. The rest of the buildings held for sale are still actively being marketed." |
According to The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) 2018 tax filing, JDC reports re: Compensation, Supplemental Information (IRS Form 990, Schedule J, Part III): Regarding severance payments to officers, directors, trustees, key employees and highest compensated employees (Schedule J, Part I, Line 4a): "The following individuals' employment contracts with JDC include severance agreements payable upon termination of employment. No amounts were paid to these individuals during calendar year ended December 31, 2018. Ophir Singal "The following individual received a severance payment for recognition of his service to the organization. The severance payment represents accumulated contributions to the severance plan that are paid out upon termination of his employment. Consistent with the tax laws of Israel, part of this payment is reported as taxable compensation on Schedule J Part II Column B(III) ['Other reportable compensation'] and part is reported on Schedule J Part II Column D ['Nontaxable benefits']. Yossi Tamir "Consistent with the laws of Israel, all employees will receive severance benefits upon the end of their employment with Joint Israel. No payments other than those identified above were made during 2018."
