September 23, 2022 ZIGGY is a 4 ½ month young puppy with a soft medium coat who weighs in at 22 lbs. ZIGGY, aka Zig Zag, Ziggles, or just plain old Zig, loves people and loves other dogs. Zig loves to be petted, whether its belly rubs on the couch or running over to sit wherever we happen to be. He will jump up on people if he is not being given the attention he feels he deserves,
but he is so light and gentle that, at this stage, it is not a big problem. None the less we are discouraging that behavior. ZIGGY will need plenty of bones and toys as his big boy teeth replace those baby teeth. He is easy to redirect to toys if he should be chewing on something undesirable. ZIG does understand “no” but will give you that “who, me?” look. It’s adorable, trust me. He is starting to get “sit” on command and is more praise than treat motivated so training should be lots of fun and
very rewarding. The following dogs are being fostered with our rescue organization. To see more photos and read a short bio of an available dog, click or tap on the the dog’s photo or Available link. We provide a brief description of their personality, training and behavior. We are always looking to expand our foster network and sometimes need help transporting dogs from one place to another. The common goal among our volunteers is the desire to help dogs not yet as fortunate as our own to find their forever homes. Would you please consider being a Friend of Rescue by donating to help in the care and well-being of our canine family? Virtually all of your donation is used for the veterinarian care and feeding of our dogs. We are a 100% volunteer organization for which no one receives a salary or stipend. Adoption ApplicationHaving an application on file is your first step to finding your forever friend. Success StoriesThis is where we revel in the knowledge that one of our charges has made their way from the plight of rescue, through the trials of fostering and adoption, and are now happily situated in their forever home. Please share the joy with us so we may share with our community by emailing us at .

May 29, 2021 From Mom Tara: We adopted Roisin (formally Kimber) January 2020 and she has been a wonderful addition to our family. She loves hiking, taking a dip in a stream or lake, rolling in the snow, and running along on bike rides (on no traffic roads/trails). She is so affectionate!!
May 19, 2021 Rascal, adopted September 13, 2020, is still gaining confidence out in the big world. In the beginning, he was so nervous to even leave my front porch. We just kept "practicing" slowly and he is doing so well. We now go on long walks by the river and he loves meeting new people. But his favorite pastime is "PLAY BALL!
September 6, 2020 It has been 6 months now since we adopted Jasper, just wanted to give you a quick update. He loves quarantine, gained weight pretty quickly and had 3 teeth extracted in June (Including a canine!) Jasper completed his first training class last month and goes to a barn hunt every week, even finds the rats faster than our mutt Bold who has been doing it for a year now.
I am hoping to thru-hike the Tahoe Rim Trail next year with him, so we did some trial backpacking trips this summer. He is great company on the trail and loves al the time outdoors
June 21, 2020 We started right way with Obedience training and he was a star so we continued to AKC Good Citizen Certification and then AKC Novice Tricks. Practicing was his favorite part of the day! He began training for therapy dog, going into Rehabilitation facilities and Hospice and then Covid-19 came. We were not able to complete the training but Ellie
eagerly continued the training at home. Connect With Us
