Facility Inspections

While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent grade in that category with a score of C. We would argue that one of the most important factors in evaluating an inspection report is deficiencies. We especially focus on the severity of the deficiencies. This nursing home was assessed 7 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none were in categories G through L. This tells you this facility avoided the more significant categories of deficiencies. Unfortunately, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received some government fines in recent years.

Nurse Quality

One of the other reasons we rated this facility so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing rating. In that category, we awarded this nursing home an F. The nursing grade consists of a handful of datapoints, many of which are based on quantities of nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing ratings. This facility fared well when it comes to avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these statistics to be measures of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

The third category we graded is short-term care, in which this facility received an F. Short-term care scores are based on the nursing home's quantity of skilled highly skilled professionals. This includes a broad spectrum of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, in addition to other variations of therapy. Considering its score in this area, we weren't stunned to learn that this facility is well below average in terms of the number of physical therapy and registered nurse hours offered to its residents based on the figures we looked at. Frankly, this was about what we expected here. The final datapoint we considered in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to return home from the facility. This facility struggled quite a bit in this area as well, with just 0 percent of its residents returning home. Unfortunately, this was well below average.

Long-term Care Quality

The next category we graded is long-term care. This nursing home received a bottom of the barrel grade of F in this category. When facilities receive this type of grade in long-term care it is a bad sign for patient care and it may mean that the nursing home is not as well-staffed. After considering the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination statistics. Frankly, we were a bit concerned this facility vaccinated 83.13253 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is quite a few points below what we expected. Surprisingly, this nursing home was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home had less hospitalizations than many nursing homes. This is its best score in this category.
