Can i sell on facebook marketplace from my business page

Facebook offers several methods of selling on a personal or business level. On a personal level, selling is possible through the local classifieds. Selling through specific private groups that allow users to share products and services is also an option. The primary method of selling through Facebook, however, is through a selling profile on a business page.

The Facebook Marketplace

Selling through the Facebook Marketplace only requires a personal account. The Marketplace is for local classifieds, and it allows other local Facebook users to view your items without being your friend. They can also contact you about the items through messenger or the comments section under the item. This is not meant for businesses and commercial use but more for personal items you are selling or giving away for free. To sell an item, log in to Facebook and click Marketplace on the left menu bar. Then select the blue bar that reads +Sell Something. Follow the prompts to set up your location and sell an item.

Selling Through Private Groups

There are several approaches to selling and finding value in private Facebook groups. You can create a group centered on your business and encourage people to join. Many membership website models use private groups as a community forum of sorts. These groups have an engaged audience and offer a platform for introducing ideas, products and services.

Alternatively, you can join other Facebook groups. Many groups have specific rules about soliciting. If you can provide value to the users while cross-selling, private groups have potential. Be careful not to violate their rules and the audience can deliver value and potential customers to your business.

Create a Facebook Store

In order to sell through Facebook as a business, you will need a business page. Open your Facebook timeline and select the drop-down menu arrow in the top right corner. Select Manage Pages to view all of your active pages. Click Create a Page and set up a new business page for a selling profile through Facebook.

You can create an entire business page that links to your product website and allows you to make commercial posts and product promotions on the timeline. Invite your followers to learn more about your business, services and products while driving sales. You can also run advertisements to promote the page while driving sales and leads. A major benefit is that you have the ability to add products directly to your Business Shop on Facebook.

The platform is also a payment gateway, or you can connect an e-commerce platform through the Facebook Shop app. A platform like Shopify will install the Facebook seller profile and automatically populate your Facebook store with the products and pricing listed in your e-commerce store.
