Cast of the new my little pony

Netflix has released the cast for My Little Pony: A New Generation and it’s AMAZING! The cast includes Vanessa Hudgens, Kimiko Glenn, James Marsden, Sofia Carson, and Liza Koshy. The news was revealed through a video with each cast member introducing themselves and their characters. They also shared the official release date: September 24.

Hudgens will be leading the group as Sunny. The actress is best known for starring in the High School Musical trilogy. Other notable credits include Bad Boys for Life, The Princess Switch, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, and Spring Breakers.

Glenn will be taking on the role of Izzy. She portrayed Brook in Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black. The actress has also voiced characters in Voltron: Legendary Defender, DuckTales, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Marsden is playing Hitch. The actor is known for his portrayal of Scott Summers / Cyclops in the X-Men films as well as starring in Superman Returns. His other credits include The Notebook, 27 Dresses, Dead to Me, and Enchanted.

Carson brings Pipp to life. The actress is widely recognized for her role as Evie in the Descendants trilogy. She also starred in Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, Adventures in Babysitting, and Songbird. Aside from acting, she is also a singer. Her most recent single is “He Loves Me, But…”

Koshy voices Zipp. Her acting credits include Boo! A Madea Halloween, Escape the Night, and Freakish. Koshy produced and starred as the title character in the YouTube Premium series Liza on Demand. She also hosted Nickelodeon’s Double Dare. Most recently, the actress starred in Netflix’s Work It.

The new animated flick follows Earth Pony Sunny, who is determined to find a way to bring enchantment and unity back to the world of Equestria after it loses it’s magic, with Earth Ponies, Unicorns, and Pegasi no longer friends and now live separated by each species.

Here’s the full synopsis: The unimaginable has happened…Equestria has lost its magic! Earth Ponies, Unicorns, and Pegasi are no longer friends and now live separated by species. But idealistic Earth Pony Sunny is determined to find a way to bring enchantment and unity back to their world.

Teaming up with open-hearted Unicorn Izzy, the pair travel to faraway lands where they encounter the likes of charismatic and brave Pegasi Pipp and Zipp and the ever-responsible fellow Earth Pony Hitch. Their mission is full of misadventures, but these new best friends each possess their own unique and special gifts that may be just what this ponyverse needs to restore magic and prove that even little ponies can make a big difference.
