Clean & Clear brand has been my partner for such a long time during my teenage years and back then it has been one of my favorite brands for more than 3 years at least. I have started using their cleanser and toner since I start getting popping pimples on my face during teenage years. Puberty hits me really hard and I got a serious breakout that almost out of control. Although I had passed my teenage stage, but I do get pimples all the time and quite frequent too. Breakouts here and there due to my acne prone skin and I’m still looking for the best cleanser that really suits my skin.

There are tonnes of cleanser out there that claims to help on acne but so far I still cant find the perfect one for myself so I decided to go back to basic and use this Clean & Clear face wash once again to clear my breakouts. Yes, I would say it has helped me throughout my rough teenage breakout skin years but as I grew and my skin tend to lost its collagen throughout the years and I could feel this cleanser became not really effective on my skin anymore.

This is one of the only cleansers that I ever see to claim that it could actually removes 99.8% of pimple-causing germs. Even those expensive or mid range cleanser doesn’t has this claim on their product, so yeah this is really one of the promising product I could say. And it also helps in preventing blackheads. When comes to whiteheads and blackheads, I had a hard time dealing with it and I could prick my skin nonstop to remove blackheads by myself which is totally a big NO NO I know. 

This cleaner is pretty simple from its packaging and nothing fancy but just a simple plain and transparent rectangular shaped bottle. You could see through the colour of the cleanser in brown or dark orange. From the bottle itself I could tell the texture is a gel kind of cleanser and soap free. Gel cleanser is always the best for oily and acne skin to prevent over drying on skin surface.

How to use:

APPLY A SMALL AMOUNT ON WET PALM AND WORK INTO RICH LATHER. GENTLY MASSAGE ONTO FACE, AVOIDING THE EYE AREA. RINSE OFF THOROUGHLY. USE TWICE DAILY FOR SKIN THAT’S BEAUTIFUL, CLEAN AND CLEAR! FOLLOW WITH CLEAN & CLEAR®ESSENTIALS OIL-CONTROL TONER AND ESSENTIALS MOISTURIZER FOR BEST RESULTS

My opinion:

I’m not bashing any brands or products but to give you my honest reviews here. If I were to compare, I would go for Cetaphil instead of this brand. Both are gel type and suitable for acne skin. But of course, in terms of price. Cetaphil is way more expensive and this Clean & Clear is more budget friendly. I have tested Cetaphil myself back then and I could feel that Cetaphil cleanse way better on my skin and remove my excess sebum without leaving any residue behind after washing. 

I bought this cleanser in a their full size which is 100ml, definitely a travel friendly size and easily to pack into my luggage if I were to tag along for my trip. One downside of this cleanser is it doesn’t has a pump and you need to open up the cap and pour it out. Sometimes careless me I would pour extra and I could not pour back to the bottle. It is a good everyday cleanser but it no longer suitable for my skin right now. My skin needs more anti-aging products I guess? I used it for awhile I don’t seem to notice any big difference for my blackheads and whiteheads. There are still there saying hello to me.
So overall, I do like this cleanser still because it doesn’t has a strong smell to be honest and it is soap free! And not to mention it is very affordable too and I do recommend for teenagers out there
