Spring is right around the corner which means it’s time to make the switch from rich, heavy cocktails and wine to light and refreshing drinks. This grapefruit rose elderflower martini recipe is inspired by a cocktail I had while on an anniversary trip in Detroit. It’s so delicious and is surprisingly easy to make!
Elderflower Liquor Cocktail Recipe
The cocktail I had was a delicious vodka and elderflower liquor concoction topped with champagne. Three of my favorite things in one drink I had to try it! It was soo good. I wanted to recreate it when I got home, but the only vodka I had in the house was this Kettle One Botanical vodka.
My mom introduced me to it when we were visiting in Florida. The grapefruit and rose flavor is so refreshing! It makes an awesome Salty Dog, or it’s great with just club soda and a lime.
I thought the flavors might work well with the elderflower and champagne and I was so right! Yum, the Mr. kept stealing this one out of my hand even though he proclaimed it a “girly drink.” It does have a touch of sweetness to it, which makes it perfect for a fun girls night. It would make a great signature drink for a bridal shower too!

Do you ever have a signature drink when you entertain?
When Vince and I were first married, we made sure we had EVERYTHING in our bar set-up so Vince could give each guest their heart's desire. He never wanted to serve just one specific drink, so we served it all!
As time has passed, we've learned a lot about entertaining and we've realized that having a signature drink at certain events can make things much smoother.
That was the case with our recent Gr8 Dinner. Since it was a beach barbecue, we couldn't take an entire bar, so we chose one perfect drink, then also provided wine, and, of course, water!
Our local steak and martini restaurant, The Bungalow, created a new cocktail for this summer using one of Ketel One's Botanicals, the Grapefruit & Rose. And Eric and Elaine, the bartenders, were happy to share the recipe for this Summer Breeze Cocktail.
This was truly the perfect drink to serve beachside. We mixed up a big batch in a thermos and enjoyed a Summer Breeze by the shore.
