Does iphone 11 pro max have magsafe

I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max. Bought a clear case with built in magnetic ring on Amazon that also came with a 3 card mag safe wallet. The case attaches to the apple MagSafe puck flawlessly and changes just fine. The case also attaches great to my MagSafe vent mount very well also. As for charge rate I am unsure but mine is at bedside and charges phone full overnight without issue.

Magsafe uses the established QI standard for wireless charging, so in theory it should be possible to charge any phone that supports QI, which includes all iPhone models launched from 2017 and later.

However, it’s a little more complicated than that. In tests it has been confirmed that iPhone models older than the iPhone 12 series charge extremely slowly with the MagSafe charger. Also note that the iPhone 12 mini only charges at 12 watts with MagSafe.

In a test (that can be watched on Max Tech’s Youtube channel below) an iPhone 11 Pro was set to charge via a MagSafe charger and at times was receiving as little as 0.96 watts – far from the 7.5 watts that the iPhone 11 Pro should be able to handle. iPhone SE also showed equally slow charging.

Macrumors has also tested charging an iPhone XS Max with MagSafe, and confirmed that charging was very slow. In that case a half-hour charge saw only 13 percent added.

In other words, it seems like a bad idea to buy a MagSafe charger for a iPhone if it isn’t part of the iPhone 12 series.

With the MagSafe Charger, Apple has taken a similar strategy as Xiaomi with its first 5G phones, where the Xiaomi 30W Qi Wireless Charging Stand provides fast wireless charging only with the Mi 9 Pro 5G.  The MagSafe Charger is providing only faster charging with iPhone 12 models and older phones like the iPhone 11 Pro Max is only getting 3-3.5W of power.

Using the GRL-C2 USB PD Tester and GRL-PSP Power Analyzer software from Granite River Labs, we can see that the MagSafe Charger is consistently pulling about 5W from its USB-C cable, resulting in about 7.9 hours for the iPhone 11 Pro Max battery to charge from 0% to 77% (with the phone's display kept off).  Interestingly, at 77% battery, the MagSafe Charger automatically stops charging the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Unlike the iPhone 12 , the iPhone 11 Pro Max does not have MagSafe magnets to easily align the Qi wireless charging coils so it took some trial and error to find the optimal location to place the MagSafe Charger on the back of the phone.

Eventually we found that placing the MagSafe Charger as per the image above, resulted in more power being drawn by the charger and transmitted to the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

The MagSafe Battery Pack will not show in the battery widget on iPhone 11 Pro

There are some relatively minor differences. For example, when used on a non-MagSafe phone, the battery won't communicate with the battery widget. When connected, the phone will charge — but the battery won't display its remaining charge in the widget as it will on fully-supported devices.

It also won't get to take advantage of the 15W of power when connected to a Lightning cable. The intelligent features — where it stops charging at 80 percent while warm or will only charge to 90 percent to protect the battery health — will be absent.
