Light Bulb - 40W

PartSelect Number PS884734

Manufacturer Part Number 8009

This an authentic OEM 40-Watt replacement light bulb, used in a number of household appliances. It is specially designed to withstand extreme temperatures, which is why these replacement bulbs are most often used to light the inside of refrigerators and ranges. It features a standard socket base, which means you simply unscrew the burnt-out bulb and screw in the replacement. Depending on the appliance you may require a screwdriver or nut driver to access the light bulb. We recommend you wear work gloves while handling this replacement part. It is constructed of glass and metal and is sold individually. Depending on the appliance and location of the bulb within it, you may want to consider disconnecting power and using a flashlight for easier access to unscrewing and re-screwing in your bulb during this repair.

Light socket melted around bulb

After unsuccessfully trying to change the blown light bulb I discovered that the plastic light socket had gotten so hot that it melted and permanently fused with the blown bulb. After my new socket arrived in the mail I just popped the temp control assembly out with a screw driver and removed the old socket and placed the new one in. Whole operation to 5 minutes. No power to the fan and compressor

I have a fridge in my garage. I have found that a glass of ice water or a cold drink outside is very important to me. When I discovered melting ice dripping onto the garage floor I was very upset. I spun the fridge and found that the compressor and fan weren't starting. I got out my multi-meter and discovered that power was not making it to these components. I did some research and found the wiring diagram online. There really isn't too much going on with a fridge and the most likely candidate seemed to be the run capacitor. I ordered the part, replaced it in a few minutes and the fridge began working again. Read more...

Manufacturer Part Number WB01X10239

Sold Individually.

Halogen bulb beneath microwave lighting the stovetop burned out after 9 mo.

Unscrewed the light cover beneath the microwave with a phillips head screwdriver. The bulb is very tiny and has 2 straight parallel prongs that slide into 2 small holes. Grab bulb from both sides with each hand firmly and slide STRAIGHT out (no twisting or pushing). Don't worry about breaking even though it may take a fair amount of pressure to pull out. New bulb arrived within a couple of days. Due to high shipping cost, suggest buying 2 or more bulbs at once. Bulb is often used as a kitchen night light so that is probably why I only got 9 months out of it. Read more...

I Placed A Heat Gun In The Freezer Section To Defrost The Coils And Did Not Return In Time. The Heat From The Heat Gun Rose Upward And Melted All Of The Soft Plastic Parts. The Good News Was That The 16 Parts Were Not Expensive But The One Main Part That Was Needed To Put It All Back Together Took 3

I replaced all of the plastic parts as well as the heat coil that is mounted at the bottom of the coils that keeps the coils from freezing up. If I had not melted the plastic parts the coil could have been replaced in 2 days, 1 day to receive the part and the next to do the work. This is the second time I have had to replace this heater. Plastic support rails of veggie and deli drawer broke

I looked at the first problem for about a year thinking that I would get to it. But when the deli drawer support broke, we were in trouble. Or I was. My wife demanded that I fix it or she would make "THE CALL". And that meant some real cheese - and not from the deli drawer, either.

When I found your website (by chance) it was the first that used exploded views to help identify specific parts. This was the first of the 3 sites that I had looked at that did that and this method clicked with my way of looking at things.

From there it was easy to identify the correct parts, make the order and then have about three days of peace until the parts arrived. Looking for a few brownie points, I installed them while my wife was out shopping and had everything back together by the time she got home.

Thanks for your fast service and your friendly website. If I need help again, I'll be getting back with you.
