God is greater than the highs and lows scripture

God is greater than the highs and the lows. What does this mean and how can you use it in your walk with Him? Well I’m no preacher or Bible Theologian, just a normal Christian who likes to blog and works in digital marketing. I’m simply going to cover this topic on this blog…

A short introduction about me

I’ve been a Christian for as long as I remember, but recently times have been hard and can say without a doubt God is molding me. Although the reasons I’m blogging about this might not make sense to anyone or even myself I discovered the “God is great than the ups and downs” trend and feel I should write something about it. With that being said this is more than just a simple internet trend as you’ll soon discover…

God is greater than the highs and lows meaning – my personal explanation

I had to really think hard about what this statement means. I’m at a point in my life were I’m expecting and believing God to do a lot in my personal life and that of my family’s. Like I mentioned before I’ve been going through a very tough trial, especially in the area of finances, for a few years now. Now, it’s no time to throw a pity party as God has brought me this far and I’m fighting to remain in faith every day because He my only option – the only one that can save me. What this situation has taught me is to keep my eyes on Him, on His Word, His promises and what His son did for me on the cross. And although I might fail at times that is what I set out to do every day.

God’s heart towards me and towards you is greater than you can ever imagine. He is always with you and not only that, wants you to prosper and be successful. He does not want you to be poor or sick – those things don’t come from Him. It comes from our adversary, the devil.

No matter how bad things are or what you are going through right now, you have stay in faith. Keep your eyes on your heavenly father that loves you and know He cares for you. In this world where there are so many bad things happening around us we need to remember that our Father is in charge and He has great plans for our future. This is what I believe to be the meaning behind “God is greater than the highs and the lows”. God is stronger and greater than any trial or problem you and I are facing. After all, how can anything be hard for the creator of heaven and earth?

Bible verses

I couldn’t find these exact words in a bible verse. However I’ve listed some popular bible verses below that will help you know your heavenly Father’s heart better and strengthen your faith. These are some of my favorite verses.

Genesis 39:2 (NKJV): The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful [prosperous] man;

Psalm 147:5 (NKJV): Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite.

Luke 12:7 (NKJV): But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Philippians 4:19 (AMP): And my God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Romans 5:17 (NIV): For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!

3 John 2 (NKJV): Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

In fact I just realized there are so many verses about this, how big our God is, how great He is that you can probably write forever about. Either way this post also has more amazing verses: 8 Bible Verses about How Big God Is. I might add more to this section as time passes.

There are a lot of different sides to getting tattoos when it comes to being a Christian. Keep in mind this blog not about debating certain aspects surrounding Christianity. That being said I personally don’t have tattoos, some friends of mine do and I’ve considered getting one myself. However in the end, with or without tattoos, I believe that God loves us either way. The fact is He gave His only son to die for our sins on the cross so that we can become righteous in His eyes. What an amazing gift.

Getting back to the tattoo part this specific design has gotten a lot more traction online than you might think. Nick Jonas, the artist part of the Jonas Brothers, got a tattoo depicting the “God is greater than the highs and low” statement back in 2013. The symbols in the tattoo are as follows: G > ^ <. It’s very unique and I can definitely see why some Christians, especially those that already have tattoos, would want to get one.  Here’s a picture of the tattoo below:

Similar to the image shown above many have gone ahead and created all kinds of shirts, hoodies and clothing items surrounding this. I will post more about this in the near future.

Final words

Here’s one of my favorite songs from Chris Tomlin called “How great is our God”. Remember: God is great than anything you are facing, the highs, lows, ups, downs or anything the devil can throw at you. He will never leave nor forsake you.

Where does God is greater than the highs and lows come from?

The message behind this symbol is a powerful one. It reminds us that we are more than just the highs and lows in our lives. We are more than our greatest successes and more than our most tragic failures.
