As Minnesota’s fourth-largest city, Bloomington sits just 10 miles south of Minneapolis. The area was settled in 1851 by a group from Bloomington, Illinois – they named their new community after the one they left behind. One of the earliest homes in the area, the Gideon H. Pond House, was built in 1856. This home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is occasionally opened for public tours.

Bloomington is a busy city with a low unemployment rate and plenty to do. Top employers in Bloomington include the Mall of America, Seagate Technology, HeathPartners, Donaldson Company, and Wells Fargo.
