However, teacher’s assistants often spend large parts of the school day working one-on-one with students to help them overcome mental health issues, learning disabilities, or other disabilities. They often help these students with skill-building and coping with the stress of attending school. Teacher’s assistants work directly with students under the supervision of the classroom teacher to assist them academically and/or behaviorally in class.
