This review is for the installation only, I feel like it took me longer to open the package then what it took me to install the hitch, it is fairly easy to install, slide it up on the frame, stick the bolts through, put the nuts on and tighten them down. The instructions call for torquing the nuts down to 80 lbs but there is no way to do this without taking the bumper off so I just made sure they are tight and will go back and check them periodically. I installed this on a 2015 unlimited Sport S. Sorry I didn't take any pictures of the wiring harness, but it was a piece of cake, it's plug and play, just take the drivers side tail light off and plug it in and fish the wiring harness through the foam insulation pad (which is just laying there and you can take it out and feed the wire through then stick it back in) the holes are already there for the wiring harness to attach to the frame.

Seems to be of fine quality and easy to install, however the actual ball was missing from my order. Had no choice but pick one up locally, as we needed to pull a trailer the next day. Oh well, it cost me an extra $11 at the local auto store to get something that was supposed to be in the box. Still though, I have several Rugged Ridge items on my Jeep and will continue to buy their brand. Lost a star for the missing part.

This was my first time towing a trailer. So this was my first tow kit I've ever bought. And this kit comes with everything you need to get started. Comes with all the hardware to bolt it to the frame. I have a 2011 jeep wrangler. I didn't have to remove anything to get the hitch bolted up. To install the harness, you do have to remove the driver's tail lamp to have it connected to the brake/parking light harness. The plug for the trailer is a 4-pin flat connecter. Which comes with a cover for the pins when not in use. And the hitch has an area where the connecter sits in. It's part of the hitch.

It comes with a 2" ball receiver and hardware to secure it to the tongue. And the tongue has a non-locking pin. One thing I don't like about this kit. But, it does what it need to do. After using the hitch for my first experience. The paint job has easily been removed from towing. A more durable coating should of been used to keep the steel from exposure. Since lefted unprotected will lead to rusting. Which would lead you to applying something on it to prevent this.

Other than that. This kit worked great and the price seemed good for everything you need. Quality is high and product is durable.

Was easy to install on my 2018 jeep wrangler jk sport unlimited with a little help with crazy glue you don't have to remove bumper and the nut will come off the washer when tightened down that is a good thing πŸ˜‰

Very heavy duty quality. It looks exactly like the OEM version of the setup except this one comes with the hitch and ball as well which is a nice add on and less money than the OEM. The only reason it's not 5 star is that the middle two bolts are VERY hard to thread the nuts onto. You want to have a set of locking pliers handy to hold the nut. Other units are like the OEM hook where the nuts are welded on instead. That might be a nice change to this unit. The wiring was easy enough and I already had an adapter for my Blue Ox tow bar connections but the wiring appears to still connect in since it's all pass through connections both should still work.

easy to install on my jeep

Fit perfectly on my 2016 Wrangler Rubicon. I removed the bumper (6 easy bolts) which simplifies the install. It probably took me 40 minutes. I've been renting a U-Haul trailer lately, and the trailer hookup is easy - the trailer lights plug right in and work perfectly. The price is right and the build quality seems fine. Be sure to route the cable completely - just where you want it - before pushing the plugs into the holes. I messed up on one wire harness plug and it is destructive to the plug to back it out of a hole. Fortunately, I hadn't pushed it all the way in, so I was still able to get it out and reuse it.

I did not read any questions or comments on this Item before purchase , so I guess I have an issue with Amazon and the seller as they are not on the same page as to what this fits . I have a 2018 JLU and the wiring harness does not work , however it will fit a 2018 JK , the hitch fits and the 2" drop and the 2" ball work . Amazon and seller should be able to classify item together and correctly on what they fit . Make sure you need the wiring harness for a JK and not a JL when you buy this .

Easy to install, great fit, looks unreal.

Can you add a hitch to a Jeep Wrangler?

A receiver hitch can be installed on any Jeep Wrangler in less than thirty minutes. Factory style hitches come with a 2" receiver and most are bolt in applications that also accept just about any kind of towing or rack option.

Can you install a hitch by yourself?

Can I install a hitch myself? Yes, you can install a trailer hitch by yourself as long as you have the right tools for the job. DIY hitch installation is a great way to save money on the trailer hitch installation cost.

How much does it cost to add a hitch to a Jeep?

You can expect hitch installation to start around $100 and go up to $800. Keep in mind, that you'll also have to buy the tow hitch and other parts separately (which can easily run you another $150–$200).

Is a hitch easy to install?

Whether you need a tow hitch for your car or rental truck, installation is fairly common (and relatively easy). It can get complicated on certain cars and with some hitch types, but most simple installations require only basic tools, so you won't have to splurge on a new toolbox just for this project.
