Adjust the volumePress the Volume buttons on the left side of the device to adjust media or call volume. You can also adjust the volume from the Sounds & Haptics screen. Select and drag the Volume slider as desired. To enable or disable changing the volume with buttons, select the Change with Buttons switch.
Enable silent or vibrate modeSILENT MODE: To enable silent mode, toggle the Ring/Silent switch on the left side of your iPhone.
VIBRATE MODE: To enable or disable haptics, from the Sounds & Haptics screen, select the Play Haptics in Ring Mode switch or the Play Haptics in Silent Mode switch to enable or disable as desired.Change notification soundFrom the Sounds & Haptics screen, scroll to and select the desired notification then select the desired sound. Enable or disable keyboard soundsFrom the Sounds & Haptics screen, select Keyboard Feedback then select the Sound switch.Turn Do Not Disturb mode on or off1. To quickly enable Do Not Disturb, swipe down from the upper right corner of the screen to access the Control Center. Select Focus, then select Do Not Disturb. When Do Not Disturb is enabled, a Do Not Disturb icon will be displayed on the Lock screen, notification bar and Control Center.To turn off silent mode and bring your iPhone back to ring mode, you can either use your phone’s physical switch or use an option in the Settings app. We’ll show you both ways to disable the silent mode. The easy way to turn off silent mode is to use the physical Ring/Silent switch. If this switch is broken or is faulty, then use an option in the Settings app to disable silent mode. In case your phone’s physical switch is stuck on silent mode, the Settings option will override that and bring you back to ring mode. If your iPhone is currently in silent mode, then behind this switch, you will see orange color. To disable silent mode and enable ring mode, flip this switch once so that you don’t see the orange color anymore. Your iPhone is now in ring mode, and you’re all set.’ RELATED: How to Use an iPhone with a Broken Home Button Take iPhone Off Silent Mode in SettingsIf you can’t use the physical switch to deactivate silent mode, then use an option within Settings to go back to ring mode. To do so, first, open the Settings app on your iPhone. In Settings, tap “Accessibility.” If you don’t see this option, tap “General” and then tap “Accessibility.” Tap “AssistiveTouch.” Turn on the “AssistiveTouch” option. You’ll now see a gray box on your iPhone’s screen. This box holds an option to enable and disable silent mode on your phone. To reveal that option, tap the box. In the menu that opens, tap “Device.” In the “Device” menu, to turn off your iPhone’s silent mode, tap “Unmute.” And your iPhone is now out of silent mode. You may now close the box and even disable AssistiveTouch if you want. Bonus Tip: Make a Shortcut to Turn Silent Mode On and OffIf you use an iPhone 8 or later running iOS 14 or newer, you can tap your phone’s back two or three times to enable and disable silent mode. You can activate this feature by heading into Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap and then choosing an appropriate option. On older iPhones, you can configure a tap on the AssistiveTouch icon to enable and disable silent mode. To set this up, visit Settings > General > Accessibility > AssistiveTouch and tap “Single-Tap,” “Double-Tap,” or “Long Press,” depending on what you’d like to use. Then select the “Mute” option.
