2006 Toyota Corolla
Asked by in Washington, DC on April 19, 2011
I have a 2006 Toyota Corolla-S, 5 speed. The maintenance required light is on, usually then this light come on I'll get an oil change and the light will go out. This time the light came on not long after I had gotten an oil change. I was told I needed to change the spark plugs, which I did and the Maintenance Required light is still on, what should I do next, besides taking it to the dealer?

no dealer needed. it is a timed light that needs to be reset.
try this. push and hold the trip reset button.
turn the key to the on position, do not start
hold until the light goes out, it may blink first but wait till it goes out.
turn key off release button and start motor. it should be out.
thanks for using repairpal

3. While holding down the trip meter reset knob turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
