I'm not sure but since the last 3 #'s match he's probably right. I hear ya though, the "trust me" part never sounds good.

Get a K&N or a Mobil oil filter. Much better quality.

I like mopar filters, never had a problem! the filter looked larger than the mounting surface is why I asked. everything lines up as far as the rubber o-ring, but visually the pilter looks like the diameter is to large.

I would think if the o-ring lines up and there's enough room to spin it on you should be good to go. K&N oil filter ?? I know they make air filters. I wouldn't use one. Tests have shown the stock paper air filter works better than a K&N. (I guess I'm changing subjects here)

Mopar markets a smaller and a larger filter that also fit. The large one is cross referenced to the Fram PH-8A, Fram Tough Guard TG-8A, Ford FL-1A for examples.

If you look on one of the sides of the M0-090 box it also has the 5281090 number on it.

In the US, Mopar oil filters are made by Purolator, and are black in color. In Canada they are made (in the US actually) by Wix, and are white in color. The Canadian part number for the MO-090 size fiter is Mopar #OFE00292 (3.5" long x 3.5" diameter).

a lot of chrysler products use the same filter in the truck and suv area. my part number at our shop is a 4675. which should be the same as fram or 4670. i would not recommend fram though. K&N is great double baffle inside for less back flow and better cold starts. I don't know if the factory has the double baffle.
