I never really knew all of the lyrics, then. However, this morning on my way to work, I found myself humming this song. As soon as I got to work I googled the lyrics and my God, it took me way back when the church/Christians saw ourselves, literally as pilgrims passing through this world. Somehow, is seems as if the church has gotten so comfortable being here and our eschatological experience means little or nothing. However, this song is such a sweet reminder that my Savior, Lord and King Jesus is coming back for me. I look forward to that day, whether by death in Christ or to be caught up in the rapture.
