Summer is around the corner, but my skin is still recovering from this winter's harsh weather. My skin has been dry, so I've been looking for a new moisturizer that will nourish my skin in time for the warmer months. I've tried several of Tatcha's products, including its lip mask and face cleanser., but was drawn to Tatcha's Dewy Skin Cream, because I'd seen it all over social media. I was curious if this moisturizer could genuinely make my dry skin seem radiant and plump with moisture. Read on to learn more about my experience.

About My Skin: Sensitive and prone to redness

Lately, I've observed that my cheeks have become redder than when I was a teenager. When I combine that with my sensitive skin, I have to be really cautious about the products I put on my face. I've done an excellent job of figuring out what works and what doesn't, but since I have really dry skin, I often change moisturizers. I have a terrific drugstore one that I adore, the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, but am looking for another go-to: a moisturizer that will plump my skin and go above and beyond to enhance it.

My skincare regimen has been relatively straight-forward: cleanser, serum, and moisturizer. I'll add a mask or something extra in the mornings or at night, but I've been all about quick and sweet routines for every day. Tatcha's Dewy Skin Cream does not specify whether it should be used during the day or at night; therefore, I used it interchangeably throughout my morning and bedtime routines for a month.

The Feel: Lightweight and creamy

When I felt Tatcha's Dewy Skin Cream, I immediately noticed that it was smooth, light, and creamy. After applying the cream to my face, it felt cool and nourishing but not heavy. I was amazed by the texture's richness and luxury. I used this dewy cream before wearing makeup, and I find it added a lovely radiance and helped my foundation go on smoothly. I loved how this skin cream felt on my skin as someone with dry skin. It was insane how dewy and moisturized my face looked. Furthermore, you don't need to apply much product, and there is no residue left behind. It blends seamlessly into the skin

The Ingredients: Hydrating and calming

This Tatcha moisturizer's key ingredients pack a (hydration) punch:

  • Japanese Purple Rice: Promotes skin firmness and suppleness. Research has shown it helps to protect the skin from UV damage and aging.
  • Okinawa Algae Blend: Contains necessary polysaccharides for skin water retention and rejuvenation. Evidence supports that this can keep the skin moisturized and smooth.
  • Hyaluronic Acid: Retains moisture by binding to water. Research has shown it improves skin suppleness and reduces wrinkles and redness.

The Results: Glowing skin

After using Tatcha's Dewy Skin Cream, the first thing that came to mind was, "Oh my gosh—my skin is glowing." To be honest, this skin cream made my skin look so good that I couldn't stop staring at myself in the mirror. My skin looked immediately radiant, and I could understand why this product is recommended to those with dry skin. It's the Holy Grail: The product feels almost like a second skin; it's not overbearing, but you can tell it's working its magic on your face.

When I applied makeup after using Tatcha's Dewy Skin Cream in my routine, my makeup had a sheen that I adored. In addition, my skin did not appear greasy at the end of the day, and my makeup did not cake up or adhere to any dry patches. I noticed that my skin looked healthier and had a natural glow towards the end of my review period. My skin's texture also felt smoother, which was fabulous.

The Value: A worthy investment

Tatcha's Dewy Skin Cream costs $69 for the standard size (1.7oz/50 mL), which is rather costly.  Nonetheless, the luxurious feel of this product is one of the reasons I believe it is worth the high price. First off, the packaging is stunning, and it brings its own spoon, which is lovely. Secondly, if you have dry or dull skin and have tried moisturizer after moisturizer without success, I believe Tatcha's Dewy Skin Cream is what you're looking for. Your skin will glow instantaneously, and after just a few applications, you will notice that it feels and looks more moisturized and smoother. Furthermore, a little goes a long way with this product, so it should last you a long time. The skin cream has a slight scent, which concerned me because of my sensitive skin, but it has had no effect on my skin.

Third, it softens, plumps, and firms your skin. As someone who has tried several moisturizer products, this one rapidly rose to the top of my list. I've never used a moisturizer that left my skin feeling as dewy and soft as Tatcha's Dewy Skin Cream. I believe this product is well worth the price; however, if you want to test the waters before buying the full size, they offer a mini size (0.34oz/10 mL) for $20. You will not be disappointed if you try this skin cream in either full or mini size.
