The City of Clayton is one of St. Louis County's 91 municipalities and is also the seat for St. Louis County. Occasionally, Clayton city staff receives requests for information that should be directed to St. Louis County governmental offices. St. Louis County governmental offices handle items such as marriage licenses, birth or death certificates, property tax and matters related to the county jail/justice center and family court. The City of Clayton conducts business relating to living and working in Clayton only.

Personal property tax receipts are available online or in person at the Collector of Revenue's Office. An online tax receipt will be accepted at the Missouri Department of Revenue license offices when licensing your vehicle.
How do I get a copy of my personal property tax receipt St Louis County?
Please visit //revenue.stlouisco.com/Collection/ppInfo/ to print an official personal property tax receipt. Search by account number, address or name, and then click on your account to bring up the information. Once your account is displayed, you can select the year you are interested in.
How do I find out my personal property tax on my car Missouri?

Can Mo DMV look up personal property tax?
If you are visiting a local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office and paid your taxes at least a week ago, the DMV can look up the paid information at the office. The DMV may charge a nominal fee. To obtain a paper copy of a tax receipt, there is a $1 statutory fee for each tax year's receipt requested.
