After having some body work done, my car now says “Auto Start/stop not available”. Car is running fine. Dealership said I needed a battery as one of the cells was bad. Replaced the battery and still have the error message. Any ideas? Show Update: Aux battery fixed it! I have seen so many message boards etc about this same problem so that is what worked for me.
2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Asked by in Bloomington, IL on October 05, 2021 When my stop/ start says unavailable the Jeep starts shaking with flashing engine light. As soon as vehicle is shut off and restarted no issues. And drives just fine. What seems to make the problem better or worse? When the stop start becomes unavailable How long have you had this problem? This twice now but when it wants to Tags: jeep, grand cherokee 2 replies Report Hello, are you saying your start/stop says unavailable while your engine is still running? Then how do you shut it off? I guess on one hand I'm not understanding the concern. And then on the other hand, the only thing you can do is perform proper diagnostic testing with appropriate diagnostic equipment that is functional with your Jeep. Having the skill and reference materials available is essential. This forum is for the baby Cherokee (KL) and not the Grand. There are some differences in the charging systems between the two, but the standard answer for the KL is a battery load test. More times than not, start/stop unavailable is related to an old/bad battery. Joined May 4, 2021 · 2 Posts

By turning off the engine when not needed, Stop/Start Technology can help improve fuel efficiency, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions (compared to the same vehicle with Stop/Start Technology not in use).
What does an A with a circle around it and an exclamation mark mean on a jeep?? Looks like: A capital letter “A” with an arrow encompassing it and an exclamation mark to the right. ? Means: There is an issue with your Stop/Start system.
