This is a good novel if it was executed perfectly. But the author will just throw things at you again and again. Which makes things from 0 to a 100 without explaining what the heck is going on

Made an account to say they are wrong. They just started the manga so no wonder they don't know. Sheesh

Chapter 18 and the preceding chapters feel so awkward, mainly because of how the MC acts:

Spoiler (mouse over to view)

- acknowledge that you're in the wrong for spying on another guild
- continue spying anyways
- get caught
- get brutally tortured for the next 5 days or so by a Korean translator
- get saved due to Iron Guild having to deal with an Opp guild
- take revenge on the Korean translator for abusing you by killing him
- meet the helpless teen whom you helped in danger (who was actually demon king in disguise, and also the primary cause for Iron guild's suspicions on you being a spy)
- do nothing but make contracts with her
- swear to murder the Iron shield but don't bother taking revenge on the Demon King for making a fool out of you and endangering your life

tl;dr: why didn't he hound her (or atleast bear animosity) for PARTIALLY getting her into this mess (as he was partially responsible for tailing and trying to ride Iron Guild's coat-tails) and then fucking off to appear on an opportune moment, only author knows.

Aside from that episode, the story has remained generic and inconsistent for as far as I have read (chap. 24, that is) but skipping to last chapter of the 1st season shows promise.

To address the plot holes and the reply that those accusations received, since I have recently finished reading till chap. 24, my memory is fresh.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)

1) MC stumbling over the "lord of the holy sword" aka Elle in his very first F-rank gate hunt feels too convenient
2) Although a minor complain, MC's caretaker boss, the former High-Ranker, appear like a chump (for even getting accidentally hit by MC) in comparison to the other High-Rankers that MC meets in the maze gate. He also seems to know nothing about the nature of gates.
3) Demon King makes a contract with MC before learning of his secrets. She only figures out his secrets after he agrees to the contract and falls unconscious. She seems to like him for his warm nature but also for his decisiveness and cold-bloodedness.

Started out strong, the main character was pretty sympathetic and the mystery of him not leveling was intriguing. As the story continues, none of the other characters are really developed, I'm not sure where the plot is going and I get that he's still figuring out his power but it seems kind of random and I still don't get what it is

Art is ok but not great. Read to chapter 18 or so and dropped because I couldn't tell if it was a new girl character (so random) or a previous girl character that was tricking him (so unclear)

For one, this is a great action manhwa with fantastic art and cool characters. The story shows hints of a much bigger picture, but we are very early on in the story.
Next on the list is the so called plot holes mentioned below which shows a lack of actual reading by them:

Spoiler (mouse over to view)

Everything is not an ego, very few items are an ego, the MC can capture EGOs and reshape them as he wishes, and as far as we know he isnt the only one as one particular blacksmith that doesnt sell to ppl has a few armors that are egos but weak ones or not original (fakes). Next is about the cannibalism ability, one MC isnt particularly sure on how to use it on other human and its risk, he uses it on dungeons and is mentioned every now and then but when its just to upgrade his EGOs, it doesnt need to mentioned every single time he does it on orcs etc. Lastly, he wasnt given an elixir coz he was interesting, the OP character gave it to him in return he does something for her as she realised his ability early on.

Plot holes everywhere. When the MC stabbed the guy who tried to kill him with the red sword, he was badly injured but didn't use "cannibalization". Seems like the author just forgot that his sword has that power.

Also

Spoiler (mouse over to view)

everything (sword, armor, even gates) is an "Ego" now

for some unexplained reason. Just feels random and out of the blue.

Oh and also

Spoiler (mouse over to view)

the super-OP orc boss that could level up by defeating humans somehow has the same attack patterns as a regular orc and somehow none of the other characters that came on the quest recognized this.

Right. That's totally believable.

Just feels like everyone else is an idiot and the MC is the only one with a brain and also he gets help from super strong characters for no reason. Like when the most OP character just handed him

Spoiler (mouse over to view)

an elixir

for no reason and her only reason for helping him was because he's an "interesting person" or something equally stupid. Literal deus ex machina.
