| | Bud Spencer of Mt. Pleasant served as USTA South Carolina President and Chairman of the Board in 2004 and 2005. He currently serves as Chairman of the South Carolina Tennis Patrons Foundation, a charitable association that supports the sport of tennis in SC. Spencer has been active in USTA activities for over 16 years, from the local to the national level. He has served as Chairman of the State Presidents Group for USTA Southern in 2005, currently serves as Chairman of USTA Southern�s Adult League Committee, and has served on numerous special study groups at the Section level. Additionally, he is as a member of the USTA National League Committee and is Chairman of USTA League Program Development. |
| | Bonnie Vandegrift served as a local league coordinator for the Mountain league in North Carolina for 9 years from 1994-2002. She is currently the Vice President of the North Carolina Tennis Association, the OIC for the Adult League Committee in North Carolina and the Vice Chair of the Adult League Committee for Southern. This is her 11th year as part of the sectional championship staff. |
| | Dodie Hanchett is currently serving her second term of service on the USTA South Carolina Board and USTA South Carolina Adult Competition Council. Before moving to South Carolina she was employed by USTA Tennessee as their State League Coordinator for 14 years and a Local League Coordinator in Knoxville, Tennessee. Dodie has been involved with USTA Leagues for over twenty years and worked her first USTA Southern Sectional Championships in 1987. Dodie Hanchett is the fearless leader of the 2007 USTA Southern Sectional Championships serving as the tournament director. |
| | Jerrie Ciza started as a local league coordinator in 1989 in Birmingham and from there went full time with Alabama Tennis Association in 1994. She took on the role of State League Coordinator in 1998. Ciza competes at the 4.5 level and has been with the same USTA League team since 1992. Her team won the national championships at 4.5 in 1994. |
| | Dave Bain been involved in the BMW Combo Doubles State & Sectional Championships, Super Senior State Championships, USTA League State Championships since 2002. His first USTA Southern Section League Championships was in 2005. Before joining the USTA Georgia staff as the State League Coordinator he worked on the ATP Senior Tennis Circuit as the Director of Operations for 3 years. |
| | Mary Goins became involved with USTA League Tennis in 1980 while serving as team captain. She went on become Vice President of her Local League, Upper Piedmont Tennis Association from 1984-1985. She was then elected as President of the same local league and served in that role for two years. For the next seven years she served as the State Verification Coordinator under Jeff Young, who was then the State League Coordinator. Her first experience with
the USTA Sectional Championships was in 1992 when she traveled to Tennessee to work as tournament staff. By the end of year USTA South Carolina made the wise decision to bring Mary on board as State League Coordinator, where she has served for the past 16 years. Look for Mary as the Paula Abdul of Southern Idol. |
| | Mary Anna Scott's first opportunity to work with USTA League Sectional Championships was when the tournament visited her hometown of Columbia, SC in 2003. She is now in her fourth year of serving as tournament staff. Mary Anna has served as a referee over 16 years and has refereed the USTA Southern Super Seniors and USTA Southern Mixed Doubles Sectional Championships. She is serving as the referee during the 2007 USTA League Championship this
week. |
| | Phil Meador serves as the TennisLink Coordinator for the USTA Southern Sectional League Championships. His run with the Championships began in 1987 and he has served in about every facet of USTA leadership. Meador was the Chief Verifier for USTA South Carolina for a number of years. He currently serves on the USTA Southern League Committee, Southern NTRP Committee, the National Oversight Committee, and the National Longrange Planning Committee. In Georgetown, SC Meador works as a teaching pro where he coaches several youth teams. |
| | Bee Stewart of Jackson, MS is a veteran to the USTA Southern League Championships. This is her 7th year on staff at the USTA Southern Section League Championships. She has been involved in League tennis for the past 25 years and got her start on the local and state level in Mississippi. She is a 4.5 level player and the life of the party. |
| | Pat Staley has been involved with organized tennis for 26 years. She first volunteered at a Sectional Championship in 1989 when the tournament visited her hometown of Columbia, SC. She worked the 2003 Championships, also held in Columbia. Pat serves in South Carolina as a Tournament Referee. She is serving alongside of Mary Anna Scott as the 2007 USTA Southern League Championship Referee. |
| | Marilyn Sherman is the USTA Southern Section Adult League Tennis Director. She has been the fearless leader for the past fourteen years. Marilyn's enthusiasm and motivations is the driving force behind the World's Largest Tennis Tournament. |
| | Ruth Anne Bendall, has served as Alabama's Mixed Doubles & BMW Combo Doubles State League Coordinator for approximately ten years. Her brother introduced her to tennis when she was in college and is still grateful to him for taking the time to teach me how to play! She loves to hear stories from others about who introduced them to the game of tennis. |
| | Lindsey Sartain is the Director of Adult League Tennis for USTA Mississippi. She began working with the Mississippi Tennis Association in the summer of 2005 as a Community Coordinator in Desoto County. Before working with the MTA she participated in League play in Greenville, Mississippi. Encouraged to play by her parents, Lindsey joined a ladies' team in Olive Branch, MS and was instantly hooked. With the help of some very enthusiastic volunteers and the staff at the MTA, a very active CTA was developed and became the fastest growing area in the state. I |
| | Freddy Bailey has been with USTA Louisiana since January of 1999. He spent a year as League Coordinator and then became the Director of Information Technology taking care of the website and and office network. In 2004 I took over the yearbook and did all the design and layout for our publication. In 2007 I was moved to Director of Adult Leagues overseeing the League Programs statewide. I have been an avid tennis player for about 15 years and will for at least another 15, body willing! |
| | Debbie Swindol is a former Mississippi State tennis standout and will be the first woman inducted into their Tennis Hall of Fame. Swindol served as the Cheif Verifier for USTA MS and USTA Southern for a number of years and has been involved with League Tennis since 1986. A Board Member for USTA MS, Debbie, is serving at the USTA Southern Section Championships as an auditor for the dynamic rating system. |
| | John Andrews is in his first year as a staff member at the USTA Southern League Championships. He is not a stranger to the event as he has competed for a Sectional title 4 times. Serving as the State League Coordinator for USTA Arkansas, John has been involved with tennis for over 30 years. He is a retired AT&T Director of Customer Service. |
| | Dene Owen is the USTA Southern Section Adult League Events Manager. Dene handles the day to day administration of the largest Adult/Senior USTA League in the nation. Alongside Marilyn Sherman, this dynamic duo, administers the World's Largest Tennis Tournament with excellence year after year. This is her fifth Sectional Championship. |

| | Kathy Klein comes from a sales and marketing background with an emphasis on USTA League Tennis in her spare time. Sne has been playing the game of tennis for the past 7 years and became involved in every aspect. She captained teams at different levels and volunteered many hours working tournaments and fund raising events. She is now serving as the new State League Coordinator for Kentucky. |
