How do you know if lymph nodes are swollen in groin?Swollen lymph nodes in the groin may be painful to the touch and the skin over them may look red and inflamed, depending on the cause. If your swollen lymph nodes are due to a lower body infection or injury, your other symptoms may include: a skin rash, irritation, or injury near the genitals or lower body.
Can you feel groin lymph nodes?There are two areas to look for inguinal (groin) nodes: Feel the horizontal chain of nodes in the right groin just below the ligament. Feel the vertical chain along the upper thigh. Check the lymph nodes in the other groin.
How do you know if a lymph node is swollen?Swollen lymph nodes are a sign that something is wrong somewhere in your body. When your lymph nodes first swell, you might notice: Tenderness and pain in the lymph nodes. Swelling that may be the size of a pea or kidney bean, or even larger in the lymph nodes.
When should I worry about swollen lymph nodes in groin?People should see a doctor if they have persistently swollen lymph nodes that do not lessen over the course of a few days, or if the lymph nodes are painful or causing discomfort. Treatment for swollen lymph nodes depends on the cause. For instance, cellulitis or skin infections usually require antibiotics.
