When is fbi coming back in 2022

Once again this fall, Tuesdays belong to the FBIs on CBS, and TV Insider has an exclusive first look at a promo with new footage from all three shows: FBI, FBI: International, and FBI: Most Wanted, all premiering on Tuesday, September 20.

The video, which you can watch above, shows all three teams back at work — and yes, we do see Most Wanted‘s Special Agent Sheryll Barnes (Roxy Sternberg), who went on maternity leave before new team leader Remy Scott (Dylan McDermott) came in at the end of Season 3. It sounds like FBI‘s going to be racing the clock (per usual) in its Season 5 premiere. “Let’s get to work,” Special Agent Omar Adom “OA” Zidan (Zeeko Zaki) says. “We gotta find this guy fast.”

The promo also offers a look at the two new team members coming to FBI shows in the 2022-2023 season. The new International liaison, Europol Agent Megan “Smitty” Garretson (Eva-Jane Willis), asks Special Agent Jamie Kellett (Heida Reed), “is it always going to be like this?” If she means a lot of action, yes. (Christiane Paul’s Katrin Jaeger worked her last case with the Fly Team in the Season 1 finale, following a promotion to oversee all of Western Europe.)

Meanwhile, it looks like Remy is going to have to take a moment to remind Edwin Hodge’s new character, Ray Cannon, of what they do: “This job is about finding our fugitive.”

You can also check out an exclusive look at Smitty with the Fly Team in the photo below from the International premiere. In “Unburdened,” according to CBS, “the Fly Team and new Europol liaison Megan “Smitty” Garretson investigate when an American police detective on the Federal task force is murdered in Paris while looking into a U.S. company suspected of selling illegal weapons in France and the Middle East.”

We’re all ready to check back in with the New York team, but there’s still a wait on our hands. FBI Season 5 will not premiere next month.

If we are honest, we never expected FBI Season 5 to premiere in August. We don’t expect any of the fall shows on network TV to arrive in the summer. It doesn’t make sense for CBS and other networks to bring back their shows when people are still enjoying some time off work to spend with their families.

The great news is we do have a premiere date confirmed. The wait for the new season isn’t too long, and we also have great news about filming and an update on Missy Peregrym’s return.

FBI Season 5 premiere date confirmed

We don’t have to wait much longer for the new season. FBI Season 5 will premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 20. The episode will air at 8/7c, which was the new timeslot for last season. There’s no doubt that the change of timeslot was good for the show, and we’ll now continue to see a whole night of FBI drama.

Filming has started on the season. This kicked off earlier this month, and it means the first episodes will be ready for September. Only some catastrophic event is going to prevent CBS from airing the new episodes as planned.

We are still waiting on a decision for the FBI Season 4 finale. It looks like CBS is not going to air the episode at all, which will mean some of the storylines need to be used in the Season 5 premiere. After all, there are going to be some personal storylines that need to be included to cover a gap.

One character we want to see return is Maggie. Missy Peregrym will return in Season 5, but not right away. She won’t return to work until the fall, so we’re looking at a mid-fall or midseason return for Maggie.

FBI Season 5 will premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 8/7c on CBS. Catch up the following day on Paramount+.

Will Maggie be back on FBI?

Maggie is back! Missy Peregrym, who left CBS' “FBI” in April for maternity leave, has returned to set and is filming again, showrunner Rick Eid tells Variety. When viewers last saw her in Season 4, Maggie was hospitalized after breathing in sarin gas on a case.

Has FBI been Cancelled or renewed?

FBI has been renewed through the sixth season. Season five will debut on September 20, 2022. Stay tuned for further updates.

Is FBI season 4 out?

In March 2021, the series was renewed for a fourth season, which premiered on September 21, 2021. In May 2022, CBS renewed the series for a fifth and sixth season. The fifth season premiered on September 20, 2022. As of October 4, 2022, 80 episodes of FBI have aired, currently in its fifth season.
