Does an O6 have a timing belt or timing chain?

I am reaching 100k on my 06 civic. On my previos civics I have changed the timing belt around 90k. What maintence should I do on my 06 at 100k and does it have a timing belt or timing chain?

Sorry for the loaded question. I appreciate the help.

Re: Does an O6 have a timing belt or timing chain?

It has a timing chain. No maintentance interval mentioned in the shop manual other than if the tensioner pin exceeds a certain length, service is required. They don't even say when it should be inspected. I've heard the chain guides will wear out, but again no info on when to replace. I suspect as long as it is quiet and you don't get any cam timing error code, keep driving it.

Yeah You have a chain on there. just remember to do Your oil changes on
a regular basis because the engine oil lubricates it. being your
"timing chain", should last the Life of the engine though with-out any
kind of inspection or maintenance required.

Not sure if this would be a hijack (if so, sorry) but is the "drive belt" the same as the "timing belt"?

Re: Does an O6 have a timing belt or timing chain?

Yes this was pleasant when I learned this, most cars have timing belts. Zsolster, the accessory belt is a serpentine belt that has a tensioner to keep it tight, it powers the AC compressor. power steering, alternator, water pump. The timing belt/chain controls the cam valve timing and is located typically on the passenger side of the engine under a cover.
