Nov 2, 2019 Hi everyone. I'm a new owner of a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland. I bought this vehicle on Sept 7th. I drove it home and the next day the light up saying ACC/FCW UNAVAILABLE, and Service 4wd. If you turn the vehicle off and turn it back on the codes will clear. But they come back. I returned it to the Subaru dealership where I purchased it from.
They had it for 2 1/2 weeks. They said they tightened a connection on the transfer case, cleaned some connections and gave it back to me. The next morning. The same warnings. I took it back. This time they replaced the wire harness that runs through the firewall, and the module on the rear differential. I got it back. Drove it a mile and the same warning lights. Can anyo e give me any idea where this issue may be coming from because I am at my wit's end and have no clue where to turn?

I’m having the same issues with my SRT. Help anyone? I hate to be the bearer of bad news... but that sounds exactly like the issue I had around 47,000 miles. After a bunch of diagnostic and trial/error the dealer ended up having to completely replace the transfer case. Joined Nov 2, 2019 · 3 Posts

Discussion Starter · #7 · Dec 4, 2019 So far they have replaced the control module in the differential and the wire harness. The dealer I bought it from used has had my vehicle for like 9 weeks now. Now it's at a Jeep dealership. Hopefully someone can solve the mystery.

Did you ever find a fix for this issue? My 2015 that I just bought used 2 months ago is doing this as well. There is also a clunk from the front end when starting and sometimes stopping. Did anyone have this symptom as well?

transfer case, under no circumstances should you engage the low drive. It will become stuck. Right now, assuming you have the same issue I did around 40k miles... you just don't have all wheel drive. Joined Apr 28, 2020 · 5 Posts

I have contacted my local Jeep dealer with appt scheduled for tomorrow am. However they can't guarantee a rental vehicle and said there are no recalls at this time. I was on the freeway to pick up my husband who had surgery. All of a sudden my car started jerking and trying to skid. The car skid icon was flashing on and off. Speed was greatly reduced and not
by me. Thought car was going to stall. Then the ACC/FCW flashed on again and once that went off, then the car drove fine and was able to pick up speed. Had to leave my car idling while waiting to PU my hubby. Drove home ok but concerned if I try to drive to dealership tomorrow. Joined Jan 21, 2016 · 2,294 Posts

Did you ever get this figured out? What does it mean when your Jeep says service 4 wheel drive? When the 4WD light appears, it is letting you know that there is an issue with the 4WD system and it must be handled promptly. Another reason why this light may occur is an incomplete shift in gears. This is confusing and damaging to the engine and could result in your 4WD service light flashing continuously.
Is it OK to drive with service 4WD light on?The "Service 4WD System" message indicates a problem with the 4WD system that should be properly diagnosed and repaired. When the ignition key is turned from OFF-RUN-START and is released back to the RUN position after the vehicle starts, the 4WD warning light should go on for 1 to 2 seconds and then go out.
How do I fix my 4WD service light? To reset the Change Oil light turn the ignition on but do not start and then push the gas pedal 3 times. The Service 4WD light is most likely the 4WD switch on the dashboard. If the lights are acting funny then the switch needs to be replaced.
How do you reset the service indicator on a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD?Locate the button labeled “STEP” in your Jeep Grand Cherokee. Press the “STEP” button until you get to a menu screen that indicates how many miles you have left until service. Press and hold the “RESET” button. The “Perform Service” indicator should now be reset.
