I was asked to be part of a book launch for Max Anders’ new book which is the 30th anniversary expanded edition of “30 Days to Understanding the Bible”. This book is written very well in sort of a study-type approach with lessons and questions and/or quizzes with some level of repeated exercises to drive home the learning
topics. Show If I were to categorize this book, I would say it is kind of a Bible guidebook that doesn’t go deep into topics, but rather gives an excellent overview of the entire Bible to help you understand the concepts that are in the Word. If you are interested in that type of learning approach, this book would be great for you. Also, for anyone that is involved in a new believer’s class, this could be a great resource for that as well. ________________________________________ In full disclosure, I was not required or requested by Thomas Nelson or BookLook Bloggers to write a positive review. Mind you, this book is by no means a tool to make you an expert in all things about the Bible. However, it can be a resource for you to spend around 15 or 20 minutes per day for 30 days and have a very good grasp on the who, what, where and when of the Bible. I would recommend this book to any newer believer or anyone that may not have a solid foundation in understanding the Bible as long as they are wanting to do a “Bible study” type approach as this book has more of a lesson and quiz/question approach through a large portion. Those who already have a solid foundation in the Bible may get a few things out of this but not nearly as much as a beginning student of the Scriptures. To be honest, I really think that this really would be a fantastic resource for a New Believer’s class to go through in a group setting that would be more of a classroom-type or Bible study kind of setting. In my mind, that would be an amazing venue for this book for sure in addition as a personal study for any newer believer. Overall, it is very well written and nicely presents an overview of the Bible. There are many repetition activities throughout this book to drive home some level of memorization of the lessons. I received an advanced reader’s copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for this review and all opinions are my own. My Favorite Part:This book has a nice pace to it – especially for people new to getting into their Bibles or those that may not have had a fairly solid background. Very well written.
