Animal shelter court ordered community service near me

Requirements

When attending an orientation for court-ordered community service, you must bring:

  • A picture ID
  • A copy of your citation which includes the charge, number of hours required, and the name/number of your case worker or attorney

Please note, we are only able to accept traffic citations, DUI citations, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

When attending an orientation for university or civic organization community service, you must bring:

  • A picture ID
  • Applicable school or club paperwork or contact information for verification to orientation

Once you attend a Community Service Orientation, you’ll receive a link to sign up for your community service hours. These hours are available 7 days a week, including holidays.

Our Community Service volunteers help with:

  • Cleaning enclosures
  • Washing dishes
  • Folding laundry
  • Shredding newspaper
  • Filling water dishes
  • And other various duties as assigned

Please note: The community service orientation held at the Atlanta Humane Society only grants you the ability to complete community service for the Atlanta Humane Society. The Atlanta Humane Society is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt nonprofit (IRS Tax ID# 58-0685900) organization.

To fulfill court ordered community service hours, you must be at least 18 years of age. You must complete a community service application prior to initiating service. The Humane Society of Broward County does not accept all court-order offenses and reserves the right to not accept all applications. Can community service help animals?

Volunteer at a shelter. Many local animal shelters have volunteer opportunities where you can learn about the animals and help facilitate their care. For a whole host of opportunities, head to Paws.org and help with everything from dog walking, to community outreach, to working with wildlife experts in a sanctuary.

Can you buy out community service hours in Georgia?

It depends on your case and if the Judge gave you permission to Buy Hours. If the Judge gave you the option to buy out or pay for your hours then the answer is - Yes you can! Just go back to the Court House and tell the clerk that you would like to Buy out your hours instead of doing them.

Is volunteering a community service?

Community service is a non-paying job performed by one person or a group of people for the benefit of their community or its institutions. Community service is distinct from volunteering, since it is not always performed on a voluntary basis. It may be performed for a variety of reasons.

How old do you have to be to volunteer at the Atlanta Humane Society?
