As a math educator (I have a Ph.D. in math education and run a tutoring center) I am always looking for good books with supplemental practice for students. This is the best book I have found for Common Core Math 2 / Geometry at the high school level. Geometry is a lot of learning vocabulary and theorems and then 1) applying the meaning of those to problems and 2) applying the meaning to proofs. This books has you doing both. For example, you will apply the concept of vertical angles with problems that involve using the definition and algebra to solve for vertical angles and you will do proofs that have you use the concept of vertical angles along with other angle theorems, substitution, transitive property, etc. The book also has open ended questions that have you just think about concepts relating to the problems, this helps students prepare for proofs without actually doing them and would be very helpful for a student who struggles with proofs. My only negative comment is that there are no answers! Therefore, I would suggest that if parents want to get the book for their student, they hire a tutor who can work with the student in this book. I help students prepare for classes over the summer. I teach them concepts, have them work problems in the book, and learn the basics so that when they start their classes in August they have already learned some theorems, applications to the theorems, and how to do proofs. So, as long as you have someone who knows Geometry well enough to check the student's work, this is a great resource for practice and preparation for the class. One other thing I should note is this book is a work book, not a teaching text book. You would need to buy another book to provide you with all the concepts, vocabulary, theorems, and examples to teach from. This book only provides problems.

This workbook would be great if there were answers in the back. That being said, I have chased the Teacher edition all over the internet and finally found it - not available on Amazon. :(
The book takes the student from thinking
about how they will solve, or what they need to solve, to actual practice within the unit and test problems. It really is a great workbook. "This workbook gives me a headache Ms. C"

It was what I order so that wasn't the problem, it just wasn't what I needed for my grandson. No one fault. It was delivered when promised. I was just off the mark when I ordered it. It may be usful to him later so i will hang on to it.

If you are exepecting mini lessons on how to solve each type of problem, this is not the book for you. This book appears to contain worksheets that complement students' in-class instruction. This book does nothing for the student seeking additional practice at home and who is in need of sample questions. It would have been nice if there was a preview of the pages so that potential buyers, like myself, would know to move on to a different type of product to support geometry home study.

A good workbook to help with the summer transition. Kids can work in this book independently, without needing constant parental guidance.
