Make homemade ice cream with ice cream maker

You don't need a fancy ice cream maker to make ice cream at home. All you need is a plastic baggie and 15 minutes. Top with any of your favorite topping and enjoy homemade ice cream instantly! If we had known making your own ice cream was this easy we would have started making it a long time ago!

To customize you can change up the extract or add in a little chocolate syrup before you start shaking. We also love folding in chopped Oreos or Reeses after. If you want your ice cream a little firmer, place it in an airtight container in the freezer before serving.

How long do you churn ice cream in an ice cream maker?

In an ice cream maker, it takes around 20-45 minutes to churn ice cream. This is assuming you've already frozen the bowl, which alone can take anywhere from 4 to 12 hours. If you're planning to make ice cream in the next day, be sure to put yours in the freeze right now!

How do you use an ice cream maker?

With a traditional ice cream maker machine, you simply pour your chilled ice cream mixture into the machine's pre-frozen container and press go. The machine will do all the mixing and churning for you, turning your cream mixture into soft-serve ice cream. Then, let it set in the freezer overnight for the perfect scoop.

Can I use frozen cream to make ice cream?

Previously frozen heavy cream will behave the same way as refrigerated cream, and will still whip into stiff peaks. In fact, cold cream actually whips better. If you're planning to use the frozen cubes of heavy cream in a hot dish, just add them directly to the recipe. There's no need to thaw out first.

Can you use whipping cream in ice cream maker?

Whipping cream will give your ice cream a smooth texture and creamy taste. Heavy cream works well to give vanilla ice cream a rich flavor but may take away from the flavor of other ingredients when adding flavorings.
