Before using the remote for the first time, remove the protective clear film that covers the battery, this will then activate it (as seen below).

After turning on the lights by pushing the green ON button, press the 'TIMER' button to program the timer, which automatically defaults to 6 hours on and 18 hours off. Please know that there's only one time setting for this kind of remote.

For example, if you press the 'TIMER' button once at 7:00 p.m., the fairy lights will come on, and stay on for 6 hours, then turn off at 1:00 a.m. the following morning. It will stay off for 18 hours and then turn on again at 7:00 p.m.

To cancel the timer, just press the 'TIMER' button again.
