How to stream apple tv to tv

Learn about Netflix features on your Apple TV, including how to set up and sign out of your account. If you don't know if Netflix works on your device, follow the steps in the “Set Up Netflix” section.

Netflix is available on Apple TV (2nd generation) and later.

Supported regions
Netflix is available worldwide. Most devices will work wherever Netflix is available, but some older devices will only work in the country where they were purchased. If you're considering buying a new device, check with the manufacturer to see if it supports Netflix in your region.

Navigation
On most devices, you can browse through rows of TV shows and movies, including a row dedicated to your My List selections. Each row represents a category (for example, comedies, dramas, TV shows) that we show you based on what you’ve watched.

To fast forward or rewind on your Apple TV, make sure that your title is paused or the touch pad is selected.

Search
Find TV shows or movies by searching directly on the Netflix app when using your Apple TV.

Resolution
Most devices can stream Netflix in high definition on fast internet connections and will play Netflix in their maximum supported resolution.

Parental controls
Netflix allows you to set parental controls on individual profiles.

Subtitles & alternate audio
Learn how to use subtitles, closed captions, and alternate audio (including 5.1 surround sound), which are available on many TV shows and movies. To check if your device supports 5.1 audio, go to any Netflix Original to see if there is a 5.1 audio option. If not, your device does not support this feature. Many devices will let you customize the appearance of subtitles and captions. Some devices will display subtitles and captions in their default appearance or are not configured to display subtitles.

On some devices, you can also stream select titles with Dolby Atmos audio, including the models below. For more information on Dolby Atmos, visit our article about using Dolby Atmos on Netflix.
